Dr M.Àngels Olivella (Navàs, 1969) obtained the Industrial Engineer degree in 1995 at the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Enginyers Industrials de Terrassa (ETSEIT) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Catalonia (Spain) with an excellent academic marks. She performed her phD at the department of Natural Resources and Contamination under de supervision of Dr FXC de las Heras. My background continued with a postdoctoral grant for two years on an European project at the Institute for Environment and Sustainability (Ispra, Italy) at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission named Impact of land derived micropollutants on lakes and coastal waters. After this time I worked for 1 year and half at the JRC centre as invited scientific with the prof. JM Zaldívar. After this period, he moved back to Girona where, in 2006, was awarded a Ramón y Cajal fellowship in the area of Earth Sciences at the University of Girona and incorporated in 2008 for a maternity leave. From this time I have established my own research line, obtaining two national projects on the modality of young researchers.
She has published 18 scientific articles in prestigious peer-reviewed international journals (14 as main author, 4 as second author), 4 European reports, 1 book and 1 review book of which she was the main editor. In addition, she has one patent and has participated in over 10 international congresses. Of the peer-reviewed publications 70% were published in leading international scientific journals: 57% and 13% in journals included in the first and second quartiles, respectively. All the papers are referenced at JCR.
